Precious Days Learning Academy, Inc., provides high-quality, early childhood programming that equally promotes physical, social,
emotional and cognitive development in a safe and caring environment.
Our philosophy supports the theory that young children learn from interactions with other children, interaction with the environment and healthy interaction with adults. Precious Days Learning Academy, Inc. (PDLA), bases its curriculum on the recommendations of developmentally-appropriate practice as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is the National professional association of early childhood teachers. The following statements are taken from Develop Mentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs by Sue Bredekamp (NAEYC, 1988). These statement serves as the framework for the activities and policies of Precious Days Learning Academy, Inc. Developmentally appropriate programs are programs that contribute to children’s development and we articulate our goals for children’s development. The principles of practice are based on a set of goals for children: what we want for them, both in their present lives and as they develop to adulthood, and what personal characteristics should be fostered because these contribute to a peaceful, prosperous, and democratic society.

"Since attending Precious Days my son has received the tools needed to advance to Kindergarten and be fully prepared for his first year in elementary school. He was able to read sight words and put these words together to form sentences. This is all due to the love, dedication and leadership of the teachers and staff at Precious Days Learning Academy (Thank you Ms. Michelle for your labor of love. The boys asked me to make sure I gave you a shout out."
